Palmetto Assessment of State Standards (PASS) January 5, 2009

This year your child will take the Palmetto Assessment of State Standards (PASS). This assessment is designed to measure your child’s mastery of our state standards and takes the place of the PACT. This test is very important for both the students and the school. The data gleaned from the assessment allows us to target areas of need for your child and work to improve those areas. Your child’s score will have an impact on classes they are scheduled for the following year. This includes high school scheduling for our 8th graders as well. It is important that every student does their very best on the assessment.
We place an emphasis on targeted instruction at Sullivan. We identify areas of need and provide instruction in an attempt to accelerate learning. We feel this best prepares our students for success in school and on the PASS. I am still having trouble posting Episode 6 using my regular hosting service. I have found an interim solution while I continue to work on this problem. I have set up an account with PodBean. I will store my podcats there until this is resolved. I will continue to publish on this blog and include a link for the actual podcast.
I have posted Episode 6, but please remember that it is a few weeks old. However, it does contain valuable information. Look for a new podcast in the coming days.

Good morning!
Episode 6 complete, but edublogs is performing scheduled work on their system. As a result, I am not able to upload the podcast. I will keep trying and hopefully it will be ready soon!
Wednesday, October 8th is a late start day. School will begin at 10:30. Teachers will be working together to plan a unit based on IB standards.
